How Does Laser Hair Removal Work?
Laser hair removal uses light energy that is absorbed by the pigment within the hair shaft and the blood vessels surrounding the hair follicle’s stem cells. This energy is converted into heat, which damages the follicle structures responsible for hair growth during the active growth phase.
The treatment is most effective when the hair is in its active growth stage. For this reason, a series of 6–8 treatments performed at recommended intervals is typically required to achieve optimal results.

How Many Treatments Are Needed?
Laser hair removal requires multiple sessions because not all hairs are in the same growth phase at the same time.
On average, 6 to 8 treatments are recommended, performed at intervals of 4 to 6 weeks, depending on the treatment area and the natural hair growth cycle in different regions of the body.
Is Laser Hair Removal Permanent?
Laser hair removal provides long-term reduction of unwanted hair growth.
After completing the recommended treatment cycle, hair typically becomes finer, sparser, and grows more slowly. However, it is important to understand that laser hair removal does not permanently eliminate all hair for life. Clinical experience shows that up to 90% of hair growth can be reduced within one year following a completed treatment series, although occasional maintenance treatments may be required over time.
What Does the Treatment Look Like?
The procedure is quick and tailored to the area being treated.
It includes:
- Completion of a medical questionnaire and signing an informed consent form. This is important because various physiological, genetic, hormonal, and medication-related factors can influence hair growth.
- Skin preparation, including the identification and marking of all pigmented lesions within the treatment area.
- Laser treatment.
- Post-treatment skincare and soothing care
The duration of the session depends on the treatment area and can range from just a few minutes to approximately one hour.
Post-Treatment Care
After the procedure, we recommend:
- Keeping the skin well hydrated
- Avoiding direct sun exposure for 24 hours
- Using daily SPF protection
